Kitten Bowl Tailgate Party Comes to Pasadena

Pasadena Humane Society is waiving adoption fees for all pets leading up to the Super Bowl

Tuesday, January 31, 2017

As the Falcons and Patriots fight to win the Su-purr Bowl, animals at the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA (PHS) are vying to steal your heart at the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA’s Kitten Bowl Tailgate Party, a fee-waived adoption event sponsored by an anonymous donor. On Friday, February 3 and Saturday, February 4, stop by PHS to meet dogs, cats, rabbits and other critters hoping to score the ultimate touchdown, a new home.

To celebrate the big day, shelter pets will take the field in a game of epic cuteness. On Friday, February 3, join Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA (PHS) at the 30 yard line in the Neely Cat Center to watch adorable kittens and cats swat toy footballs around in hopes of scoring a field goal. Our shelter pups will command center stage on Saturday, February 4, as they run football toys down the field in our training yard in the hopes of scoring a touchdown.

A giant scoreboard located near the adoptions office will showcase all adoptable pets at PHS. A football-themed photo booth will be set up outside the adoptions office for visitors to take photos. Those who share their photos with #KittenBowl will get a free toy or treat in the PHS Shelter Shop.

The PHS Kitten Bowl Tailgate Party is part of a nationwide event hosted by North Shore Animal League as part of Hallmark Channel’s Kitten Bowl IV. North Shore Animal League is providing free giveaways that will be available at PHS during the event.

“We are thrilled to partner with North Shore Animal League and Hallmark Channel to promote pet adoption in our community,” says Julie Bank, President and CEO of the Pasadena Humane Society. “Regardless of who you’re rooting for in this year’s game, finding animals loving homes is a huge score.”

All dogs and cats will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and receive a set of vaccines before going to their new homes. PHS will be open during normal adoption hours, Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Regular adoption screening applies.

The Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA is located at 361 S. Raymond Avenue in Pasadena, California. To expedite the adoption process, download and print an adoption application in advance on our website. View all animals at the shelter at pasadenahumane.org/adopt.
