Peltier Home Open House Celebrates California Cool

Amy Peltier, the owner of Peltier Home, moved to California four and a half years ago. Since then, she has thoroughly savored and embraced the California cool style, and her designs reflect this laid back vibe.

“You can get away with a lot of white and muted grey tones here because there’s so much light,” she said. Her casual, cool designs feature muted grey and blues with light accents.

“Earth tones are also popular here because of people love the outdoors,” said Peltier. She has participated in the Pasadena Showcase House of Design makeover for the past four years and is working on the Carriage House in this year’s House.

Lucy Mao, a real estate agent who contracts Peltier to stage homes, adds that her designs are stylish yet practical. “Her designs are livable yet beautiful enough to show off — they’re great for families and she’s very respectful of the things people already own.”

In the Peltier Home, beauty is in the details — from the books and glasses on the bed to the art on the walls, design can really transform a house into a home.
