Puppy Bowl XIV’s Precious Lineup Revealed at Pasadena’s Langham Hotel
Thursday, February 1, 2018
Players from “the biggest competition on four legs” descended upon Pasadena’s Langham Hotel to promote their adorable version of the rough and tumble game of football — Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl – which will air on the network on Super Bowl Sunday at noon PST.
Team Ruff and Team Fluff are set to face off on the gridiron at the new bone-shaped Geico stadium. Not only will they be joined by a few special guests including a sloth referee, but fans will be able interact with their favorite furry football warriors come game day.
As with the game the human pros play, social media users can follow the Puppy Bowl covered in real time via Twitter. Instagram will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the game, and both the Animal Planet and Puppy Bowl’s Facebook pages will feature updated news and opinions all day on game day. Discovery VR iOS, Android apps, Samsung VR, and Animal Planet’s YouTube channel are also hosting a virtual reality series, which will allow viewers to see things from the puppies’ POV and even introduce them to Puppy Bowl Training Camp.
Animal Planet is also premiering “Puppy Bowl Presents: The Dog Bowl,” which features adult dogs from rescues and shelters playing their own game for either Team Wags or Team Tails.
The puppies are all up for adoption with many rescued from areas devastated by recent natural disasters including Houston, Puerto Rico and Florida. The network created this year’s roster with the help of 48 different shelters and rescue organizations from 25 U.S. states and territories. Their adult dog counterparts are also up for adoption.
