Unlike Plumbing, This Business Ages Well

Brian, son of Phyllis and Dan Keithley, owners of Keithley Plumbing, was only five when he started accompanying his dad on his plumbing trips. Growing up, he’s seen his parents adeptly manage the family-owned and operated business that was established way back in 1969.

Now 27, Brian is ready to assume responsibility and manage the operations himself.

“With our son now, it’s going to be fourth generation,” Phyllis proudly says. “He has the knowledge, and yes, he is ready. He even wants to expand the business a little more.”

Needless to say, his parents are proud that the business, which was awarded Best Plumber in Pasadena in 2014, will continue to flourish.

Over the past decades, Keithley Plumbing has performed countless residential and commercial plumbing repairs, kitchen and bath remodels, garbage disposal replacements, tank and tankless water heater installation and repair, copper re-piping, trenchless sewer repair and replacement, and other plumbing and draining needs.

Owners of older houses and historical landmarks in Pasadena whose plumbing problems have gone undetected for a long time have turned to Dan, the third-generation owner, for solutions.

“He’s really good in older homes with older valves and things. He can figure out solutions that three or four plumbers have been on, and I’m not lying, they’ve called him and asked, ‘We’ve had four other guys here. How did you figure it out?’” laughs Phyllis.

“He likes the challenge like that, and he will figure out what the problem is.”

Will Brian be as skilled and trusted as his father? It’s a no-brainer. Given his early exposure and his passion for the business, Brian will definitely carry on the family legacy and hopefully make Keithley Plumbing more successful than ever.
